I canât believe youâre still using your debit card!đ˛ Especially when buying anything over ÂŁ100, like hotels, flights, or festival tickets. This is because your debit card doesn't always offer you protection on the things you buy⌠Which is why I always use my credit card for larger purchases!đł
If you buy any goods or services between ÂŁ100 and ÂŁ30,000, youâre covered under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Which means your credit card provider is jointly liable with the retailer if anything goes wrong!đ¤
So if the company you buy from lets you down, doesnât honour your contract, or even goes bust, you can make a claim against your credit card provider to get your money back. This is why having a credit card in the UK is essential for money management, financial security, and building your credit score.
