Welcome to The Financial Fix!💰

This is my new weekly personal finance blog where you’ll learn actionable personal and business finance tips to help you achieve your financial goals! Whether you’re in Essex or anywhere in the UK, these strategies are designed to improve your financial health.

Without further ado let’s get into the first post, which is…

SIX Bank Accounts You NEED in 2024 to Master Your Money!

If you want to be better than the average person with money, these six bank accounts are essential. Let’s break down each one:

  1. Personal Current Account – A simple account where all your personal day-to-day income and expenses go in and out. This is your main hub for managing personal finances, so make sure it’s with a bank that offers good mobile banking features for easy tracking.

  2. Business Current Account – For all your business income and expenses🤝. If you’re self-employed, a freelancer, or a small business owner in the UK, you must separate your personal and business finances. This keeps everything organised and makes tax time a lot easier. In Essex, several banks offer great business banking options—do your research to find one with low fees and good customer service.

  3. Savings Account – So you can save for short and long-term goals. You want to pick one with a high interest rate! Whether you’re saving for a holiday, an emergency fund, or a new car, keeping this separate from your current account reduces the temptation to spend.

  4. Workplace Pension – For when you retire. This will also save you money on tax when it comes to your return!👀 Planning for retirement is crucial. If you’re self-employed, consider a self-invested personal pension (SIPP) for more flexibility.

  5. Credit Card – When you use a credit card effectively you’ll increase your credit score which is going to help you get a loan. A high credit score improves your chances of getting a mortgage or loan with better interest rates. Just make sure to pay off the balance in full each month to avoid interest charges.

  6. Lifetime ISA – If you want to move out you need one of these accounts! When you sign up you get a 25% bonus on everything you save, so if you save the max £4000 per year you get a free £1000.🤑 This is one of the best ways to get on the property ladder faster.

  7. Stocks & Shares ISA – This account allows you to invest money which can offer a higher interest rate than savings & any profits you earn are completely tax-free! Looking to grow your wealth? A Stocks & Shares ISA allows you to invest in the stock market with the potential for higher returns. This is an excellent option for long-term growth, especially if you’re saving for retirement or other big life goals.

🏦 I have all of these accounts so ask any questions you have in the comments & let me know what account you’re going to open!
